In July, our headliner is the fantastic Myriam San Marco! Myriam is a poet, promoter and creative writing facilitator. As Bournemouth Poet Laureate, Myriam leads a writing and development programme for local writers with the support of Bournemouth Libraries. She founded Word Makers and Silence Breakers in 2016, and the collective of wandering wordsmiths, vagabond verbalisers and rhyming rebels have been working as workshop leaders, bards, fools and muses at local festivals and one-off events ever since!
Abe Gibson described Myriam’s performances as cutting to draw blood, and her debut collection, Sakura, is out now with incredibly cool indie poetry publishing house, Burning Eye Books.
Arrive at Crosswords from 7:30pm on the night to book your short open mic slot. We like poetry, prose, storytelling, a cappella singing, and monologues! Or you can just come along to listen – everyone’s welcome! Entry is £2 per person and refreshments are available.
NB: there are over forty steps down to the caves, some of which are uneven and steep.
