How to Develop Your Writer’s Voice
With Ian C Douglas
Venue: Nottingham Writers Studio, 25 Hockley, Nottingham, NG1 1FH
A writer’s voice displays attitude, personality, and character, and should be unique to you. Learn to recognise, develop and define yours in a 2-hour workshop this October.
The session will centre around a PowerPoint presentation, group work and practical writing exercises. Ian will give feedback on individual participants work, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring along their own material to work on. Bring a laptop or pen and paper and be ready to write!
During this workshop, you will…
1. Define the meaning of writer’s voice.
2. Look at some examples by famous writers.
3. Identify the qualities that make up a writing style.
4. Practice recognising your own voice.
5. Learn to develop your voice further.
