Local and Vocal – LIVE EVENT

Join poets Andrew Graves and Trevor Wright and a host of local writers for an evening of words and stories celebrating the accents, voices and attitudes of Mansfield and Ashfield residents. Hear new work encompassing the themes of past, present, environment and location. Some limited open mic slots available for those wishing to attend and share relevant work.
The event is completely FREE and there will be free refreshments and nibbles available.
Andrew Graves is a professional performance poet and has appeared on TV and radio, being featured on 6 Music’s Cerys Mathews Show, BBC One’s Inside Out and the documentary Evidently John Cooper Clarke.. His first full collection, Light at the end of the Tenner was released in 2014 and his latest book God Save the Teen is out now.
Trevor Wright works part time in social care and is the co-director of a community interest company, InSight, which provides autism awareness training. His first poetry collection, Outsider Heart, was published by Nottingham’s Big White Shed in Nov 2016.
The event will be part of Nottingham Poetry Festival 2018 and is bought to you via Writing East Midlands, Nottinghamshire County Council and First Art.
