ArtSpeak – Creative connections for Nottingham’s 60+.
ArtSpeak is an outreach arts programme from Radford Care Group with an open invitation for people aged 60+ to get out, get creative, feel good and enjoy life to the full. Through the development of community hubs with an enriched arts programme embedded that meet the interests and desires of participants; ArtSpeak hubs will become social meeting points where an exchange of creative skills and interests can be shared, learnt and developed.
As part of this new programme we would like to commission a poet to write a community poem. This will reflect the ethos of the project and have an input from participants who attend our initial taster sessions. The role of the poet at these sessions will be to stimulate conversation around the themes of the project and get participants to input ideas and phrases that could be incorporated into the poem. The poem can be completed after all sessions have taken place. The poem will be used as a hook for participants who attended and gave their input. Their details will be captured, and the poem will be sent to them with an invitation to come to an ArtSpeak hub and become a member.

If you are interested in making this collective poem, please send a proposal outlining the process you would take and include examples of your previous work. Please also confirm your availability for all the above dates and a budget breakdown.
We do expect the commissioned poet to attend all pop ups, however, should for any reason this not be achievable we will accept a process for collecting information to inform the final work, this would then be carried out by a volunteer who would be under instruction to help achieve required information.
Should you wish to discuss this project please contact us via e-mail or telephone Hannah on 0115 978 6133.
Please return your proposal Artspeak@radfordcaregroup.org.uk by 9am Monday 28th January.
