Jo Bell at Royal Derby Hospital

The Writer Jo Bell has taken up a one year residency at Royal Derby Hospital. She will talk to, interview and observe patients at the hospital. Her work will be displayed in the hospital in a variety of ways, and there will also be a series of short films documenting her work.

Royal Derby Hospital also produces Poetry in the Waiting Room, and Jo will be editing this pamphlet as part of the residency which showcases East Midlands writing. Jo is therefore acting as a curator/actor to showcase East Midland Writers.

About Jo Bell

Poet Jo Bell runs lively workshops, literature projects and spoken-word performances. September found her in Knutsford, Cheshire for a performance called ‘Sense and Sensuality’. Brave audience members touched, tasted and smelt some very peculiar things, and heard readings and songs on the five senses. Look here for comments, or here to book the show for your venue.

Jo is Cheshire Poet Laureate 2007 and now also co-ordinator for National Poetry Day. The National Poetry Day team are now working towards a bigger and better event with a new website, more national events, wider-reaching education work, and better funding to extend the reach of this annual landmark.
