Call for Entries: Leicester Family Book Project - phase two

Posted on 27th May 2010

The Leicester Family project is looking to record people’s experiences of family life in Leicester, celebrate what it was was like in the past, capture what it’s like today, as well as imagine what families will be like in the future.

A scrapbook of entries submitted for the first phase of the project was launched at the Amplified Leicester Public Showcase and can be read online here:

We’ll be posting blogs regularly which we hope will trigger your memories and experiences of family and need you to add your memories, via the comments box. You can also email us your pictures and films via leicesterfamily@yahoo.com or add them to our Flickr group or Youtube channel.

Entries can be presented through any creative form, from song to poetry, drawings to photo.

We welcome everyone to get involved with digital scrapbooking too, and if you’re up for a further challenge invite you to send in your .jpg’s of your crafty creations. We used the Shabby Princess to create our pages in the scrapbook but you’re welcome to create your own using your own designs.

There are a selection of prizes for the best contributions, including 5 x £20 National Book Tokens, 5 x Keith Mansfield Johnny Mackintosh Star Blaze novels and 2 x family portrait sittings with Maz courtesy of Maz Mashru Leicester worth over £100.

To find out more you can visit http://www.leicesterfamily.org or find the project on Myspace, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter leicesterfamily, Ning.com and Youtube by typing in Leicester Family. Entries will need to be emailed to competitionleicesterfamily.org or added to the Flickr group by July 6th 2010.
