Posted on 2nd February 2010
About Our School
We are a small rural primary school situated between the villages of Hope and Hathersage in the Peak District. We currently have 104 pupils on roll. This is our first year as an enquiry school but, we are a creative school having achieved very recently gold award Arts Mark. Our pupils are enthusiastic, hard working and motivated to organise many extra curricular clubs. All our staff are fully on board and are keen to support projects that help us to develop our creative approaches to teaching and learning.
Our Project and Question:
How can creativity enhance our understanding of world faiths and enable us to learn more about the customs, traditions and beliefs around the world?
We have consulted with our pupils and have identified several possible creative interests and disciplines they would really like to explore. We are looking for exciting and inspirational practitioner/s to work with us who have skills and experience in any of the following: theatre and drama, street dance, animation and filmmaking.
We would like our practitioner/s to enable us to develop and realise a wide range of ideas on how we can creatively approach our enquiry question but, also develop some longer term sustainable creative teaching and learning approaches.
And most importantly, we all want to have fun and learn new creative skills!
