Writer Biography

I studied literature at undergraduate and postgraduate level and have worked in the television industry and as a freelance writer. I have developed comedies and factual programmes for television, and have written commentaries for television documentaries. I worked for Channel 4 News as a researcher in their North of England office, and have written presenter’s scripts for a live television channel. I have travelled extensively in the UK and Europe making factual television. I have also written press releases for New Deal for Communities (NDC) partnership (Nottingham), InTouch Group (Yorkshire), and Venvida.com e-training website (Nottinghamshire). I have written journalism and features for various magazines, newspapers and websites. I recently completed a comedy script for radio, and am writing a crime novel. I can write factual pieces to order, or creative fiction, whatever the job entails.

    I am experienced in writing for television, from treatments to research material to commentaries, press releases and billings, and am happy to share what I know with young people who want to work in the industry. When I worked on the Wellbeing live television channel, one of my duties was to mentor new media graduated in their first television job.
