Writer Biography

I’m the author of eighteen published fantasy novels, the latest of which, ELFLAND (Tor US) is set mainly in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire. I was born in Leicester and brought up in a village in Charnwood, a beautiful landscape that inspired my creative urge to make up stories! I went to school and art college in Loughborough, and worked in graphics and medical art before becoming a full-time writer. My other novels include the fantasy adventure A BLACKBIRD IN SILVER DARKNESS, a vampire trilogy beginning with A TASTE OF BLOOD WINE, and THE COURT OF THE MIDNIGHT KING – a fantasy based on the controversial King Richard III who had many local connections. I’m now working on a second novel for Tor, MIDSUMMER NIGHT.
