Writer Biography

I’m a freelance dramaturg/literary facilitator and journalist working in the East Midlands.

I studied at the University of Bristol, graduating with first class honours in drama, and the moved to the Bristol Old Vic, working as the Assistant Director there for two months. Since then I’ve worked, on a freelance basis, for Nottingham Playhouse, Manchester Royal Exchange, New Perspectives Theatre Company, The Theatre Writing Partnership, Halden Theatre’s Triliteral Festival and professional director Jonathan Munby. These positions have allowed me to promote new theatre writing whilst also helping directors and audiences engage with other existing texts.

I have written various different plays, reviews and articles, these including Nottingham-by-the-Sea: The Last Resort? which was performed at the SEAS International Festival and co-wrote a show for the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe. I also wrote the performance blog for The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust’s IdeasTap website at the 2010 National Student Drama Festival in Scarborough.

I’m interested in fostering relationships with writers and directors who could benefit from collaboration with a dramaturg or need literary advice on their work.
