Writer Biography

Hi! I’m Jack Croxall, a Young Adult author and a book/nature blogger. I was originally educated as an environmental scientist (Nottingham University), but I soon realised a life in the lab wasn’t for me. It was writing and communication that was my real passion, so I attained some further training in that area (BBC, Imperial College London) and now I write YA fiction and blog on all things natural world and bookish. I also speak publicly on writing/blogging for a YA audience.

I speak publicly on writing/blogging for a YA audience, most recently speaking on marketing YA fiction through social media at The WEM Writers’ Conference 2015. I love speaking in public. I always enjoy the challenge of transferring my knowledge and passion to others. However, it is my firm opinion that book/writing events are not just important for all that can be learned through attending, but for the people an attendee meets and the connections they make too. As a speaker, my main concerns are always that, firstly, I engage with my audience effectively, and, secondly, that anyone attending an event I'm involved in connect with not only myself, but other members of the audience/workshop too.
