Writer Biography

Karen Ette lives in Loughborough, Leicestershire and graduated from Loughborough University with an MA in Creative Writing and a PhD in English, Contemporary and Modern, Creative Writing, which focussed on Great War literature.

As well as being a writer, Karen is a PTC trained, freelance proofreader and copy-editor. She has self-published non-fiction books and has had short stories published in four anthologies by Ruler’s Wit, with whom she also writes. Articles have been published in specialist magazines and she won a competition for a radio story, which was broadcast locally. A number of poems have also been published in local newspapers.

For the past seven years Karen has been a judge for the BBC’s 500 Words competition.
