Writer Biography

University lecturer, moved from English to set up De Montfort’s undergraduate joint honours degree in Creative Writing. (Also experience in adult education, English and Media). Now mostly teaching Creative Writing with some English.

Performances & Workshops

I have been a featured poet at Shindig, Leicester and in the Nottingham Poetry Series as well as contributing to open mic events. I have read short stories at Short Fuse, Leicester and as part of a plenary session at the Singer Not the Song conference at Sheffield Hallam University. I have also performed flash fictions 1-1 at Leicester Curve’s Curveball events.

I have run numerous creative workshops, mostly as part of my job but also for external events and once when the region hosted the Quaker Summer Gathering at Loughborough University.

    Almost all my work has been with adults. However I have provided & taster& sessions for secondary pupils and in my P.G.C.E. I was most successful in working with the 11-14 age group.
