Born and bred in Sweden, I arrived in England 40 years ago to do a one-year course at Birmingham University, I’m still here still married to the no longer so young man who made me miss the boat home. I’ve worked in education, community development and for Sure Start but am now happily retired.
I write historical fiction, action rather than romance. I always knew I would write about Vikings as I find the British need educating about these our common ancestors. My novel Shieldmaiden was published in 2012. It is set among the Vikings in Cumbria and does what it says on the cover; an adventure featuring a warrior woman. I’m half-way through the sequel.
‘Britons, Saxons, Vikings – Who Are the English’, my first experience of giving a talk
was sold out at Hinckley Library and I also sold out of books which was nice! I have a lot more to say on the subject and am hoping for more engagements.
I was accepted on the East Midland Art Mentoring Scheme 2012 and Shieldmaiden was featured small business on their website that autumn.
My poems have been published in various anthologies and magazines over the past 15 years, some have been placed in competitions.
