Writer Biography

b 1961. Grew up in a North Notts mining village.

Early 1980s studied fine art at Leeds Polytechnic, mentored by writer/actorJeff Nuttall. Engaged in poetry and art performance and fronting electro-pop band Smart Cookies as songwriter and lyricist.

1985 worked as investigation photographer for Notts Fire and Rescue Service, then video editor and part-time lecturer at Clarendon College, Nottingham.

1988, moved into desktop publishing and videographics as a practitioner and trainer.

1986 The UKs First computer-generated cartoon strip featured in Sound-on-sound magazine.

1990’s – experience in creative and IT-service industries. Pioneered multimedia applications for GEC, Raleigh and Boots. Touch-screen digital video applications showcased by Phillips Media and Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG).

1997 Cream Award for Development Board for Rural Wales website.

1998 Joined Headland Multimedia as a producer.

2002 Published Nottingham in the 1980 – Images of England – Tempus Publishing.

Various local and national TV and radio appearances related to youth-culture and Nottingham’s industrial heritage in the Seventies and Eighties. Currently writing for film and TV with BAFTA nominated producer Marcus Clarke.
